OORTFALL

Squad tactics at the edge of the solar system.

Command the Azure Corps against the Crimson Pact. Hold the high ground, seize the mining rigs, and bring their base down: one hex, one turn, one hard decision at a time. A sixteen-mission campaign teaches you the trade and then asks you to finish the war.

Every hex matters.

Oortfall is small enough to learn in a match and deep enough to keep you coming back. The terrain, your roster and the enemy commander all change the plan.

Read the ground

High ground stretches your range and your sight. Ridges hide what's behind them. The fog of war lifts only where your squad can see.

Every unit has a job

Snipers can't fire point-blank. Lieutenants strike before anyone can shoot back. Artillery lobs shells over walls. Rocketeers do double damage to vehicles.

Take the map

Engineers capture mining rigs and outposts for income. Park a unit beside an enemy mine and their wages stop. Every structure you hold pays for your next squad.

An enemy with a plan

Face three Crimson Pact commanders, each with their own way of fighting and their own colours: Marshal Vex attacks early and never stops, Warden Brakk digs in, and Baroness Aurum buys her way to victory. Choose Easy, Normal or Hard.

Roll out the armour

Switch on vehicle mode and a depot rises beside your base: fast Buggies, heavy Tanks and Artillery, on flatter ground built for them.

A squad that talks back

Your marines answer every order, in Scottish accents, over an original score. HQ radios you a briefing, a word for every objective and a debrief, and the enemy commanders taunt you between them. Every rule in the Field Manual comes with its own little animation.

Meet the Azure Corps.

Twelve kinds of unit, each worth buying for a reason. Here are five of them.

Grunt

Grunt

Reliable all-rounder.

Lieutenant

Lieutenant

Shock assault: targets can't return fire.

Sniper

Sniper

Range 4, plus 1 from high ground.

Walker

Walker

Heavy armour; crushes infantry.

Drone

Drone

One use: destroyed when it attacks.

…and Engineers, Scouts, Artillery, Commanders, Rocketeers, Buggies and Tanks.

Four operations. One rock.

Kestrel-9 was promised to the Azure Corps; the Crimson Pact got there first. Brigadier Fenwick walks you through your first missions step by step, then rolls out the roster a unit at a time: Engineers and rigs, Snipers on the high ground, outposts, the Vehicle Depot, Tanks. By Endgame you are fighting hour-long battles on the biggest maps, with objectives to hit along the way and three stars to chase on every mission.
